Hypnotherapy (Hypnosis): is a trance-like relaxed state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. It facilitates calmness and makes people more open to suggestion and therapy. It can be used to help people cope better and gain control over undesired behaviors. The participant is in complete control the entire time, but is more open to suggestion. Hypnosis has been compared to deep relaxation, feeling like you just got a massage or as if you just had a good nights sleep. Hypnosis is often used for pain management, smoking cessation, weight management, sleep problems, stress management, and a variety of other issues.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)-ART is used to treat people experiencing issues such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, sexual abuse trauma, phobias, physical and mental challenges, addictions, grief, job issues, performance anxiety, sports performance, fear issus (fear of flying or the dentist), and relationship issues. ART reprograms the brain and facilitates positive changes. It helps turn negative images and sensations into positive images and sensations. Clients can expect to feel relief in just a few sessions.
Health Psychology: Dr. K will help you identify your triggers for your pain, how to cope with the pain with a variety of mind-body techniques, and help you identify how to find joy in other areas of your life. Dr. K will also use Hypnosis and Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help you be successful in pain reduction.
Emotional Intelligence Testing and Training: Emotional Intelligence is a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain relationships, cope with challenges, and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way. Dr. K offers emotional intelligence testing through the EQ-i 2.0, which is an assessment that measures emotional intelligence and how it impacts people's workplace and other areas of life.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I): CBT-I is a structured program that will help you identify and change thoughts and behaviors that contribute to sleep issues to help improve your quality of sleep.
Addiction Therapy: Dr. K will help you identify your triggers for using and ways to cope. She will guide you in developing an individualized relapse prevention plan to help avoid future relapses. Common feelings associated with addiction such as guilt, shame, depression, and helplessness will be addressed. She will help support you in your adjustment to an addiction free life.
