About Dr. Keough
Licensures/Certifications: Dr. Keough is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Addiction Professional in the state of Florida. Dr. Keough is a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, is certified in Health Psychology, and has advanced training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Dr. Keough is also certified in Emotional Intelligence and administering of the EQ-i 2.0. She belongs to several professional organizations and is always staying up to date in the field by attending seminars.
Years of Experience: Dr. Keough has been practicing therapy for over fifteen years, including time spent as a Licensed Psychologist, a Certified Addiction Professional, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (in Illinois), and a Certified Addiction and Drug Counselor (in Illinois).
Locations Worked: Dr. Keough has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, nursing homes, graduate school, forensics outpatient center, a women’s prison, a men’s prison, an adolescent addiction center, and a behavioral health hospital (Addictions Outpatient and Inpatient Units, Self-Injury Unit, and Adolescent Unit).
- Undergraduate: College of Dupage (Illinois) and DePaul University (Illinois)
- Graduate School: Illinois School of Professional Psychology (Illinois) at Argosy University/Schaumburg.
- Dr. Keough has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD).
- Dr. Keough has received over 500 hours of continuing education credits and holds a certification in Health Psychology, Emotional Intelligence, and as an Addictions Professional.
Dr. Keough Fun Facts: Dr. Keough is holistic, meaning she believes in treating the whole person (mind and body). She tries to live a healthy lifestyle. She enjoys running and Yoga, has training in Reiki, and believes in healthy eating. She is open to others’ choices but is willing to discuss how foods and exercise affect the mind and body.
Dr. Keough also thinks it is important to incorporate fun and calming self-care activities into your daily life and tries to do so through reading, painting/drawing, puzzles, playing with her dog, exercise, and writing. She encourages people to find a balance in their life and address all areas. If one area of life is not addressed the others may become affected.
Statement from Dr. Keough: Studying psychology has not only prepared me to be a therapist but it has also helped me personally. Everything I teach to clients, I try to do for myself. As a fellow human being, I understand how hard life can be at times. My goal is to help people achieve their goals, learn something new, and overall just be happier.
